Desert and Drink Recipes

Oak Alley's Famous Mint Julep

Ingredients

Simple syrup, bourbon, mint leaves
Simple Syrup

2 cups mint leaves, 1 cup sugar, 1 cup water

Place water sugar and slightly crushed mint leaves in a pot.
Heat until sugar dissolves.
Strain.
Pour 1 oz. of this mixture (simple syrup) in a zombie glass or silver goblet.
Fill with crushed ice, stir until ice dissolves some, add crushed ice and bourbon to top of glass.
Stir until frosty.
Garnish with a sprig of mint and serve.

You will understand why you have heard that Southerners sit on the veranda and sip their mint juleps . . . !

Bananas Foster

Ingredients

* 4 tablespoons butter (1/2 stick)
* 1 cup dark brown sugar
* 2 bananas
* 2 ounces banana liqueur
* 4 ounces dark rum
* Ground cinnamon
* Vanilla ice cream (optional)

WHITE CHOCOLATE MACADAMIA NUT BROWNIES

Ingredients

* 1/2 cup (1 stick) butter
* 8 ounces white chocolate, cut into chunks
* 4 eggs, room temperature
* 1 teaspoon salt
* 2 cups sugar* 2 teaspoons vanilla
* 2 cups flour
* 1-1/2 cups macadamia nuts

PECAN PIE

Ingredients

* 4 eggs
* 1/4 teaspoon salt
* 1/4 cup melted butter
* 1-1/4 cups light corn syrup
* 1-1/4 cups firmly packed brown sugar
* 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
* 1 unbaked 9-inch pie shell
* 1 cup chopped pecans

HURRICANE COCKTAIL

Ingredients

* 1.5 ounces light rum
* 1.5 ounces dark rum
* 1 ounce orange juice
* 1 ounce fresh lime juice (NOT Rose's or RealLime)
* 1/4 cup passion fruit juice, or 1 tablespoon passion fruit syrup
* 1 teaspoon superfine sugar
* 1 teaspoon grenadine
* Cherries with stems, and orange slice to garnish
* Ice cubes
